Sherm decided to eat lite this morning! :)

So did I so I had the blue corn pancakes.

He does a daily FB post of the trip and is taking his own food pics.

After hearing a lot of shots being fired outside of our motel room last night (fireworks) I was a little concerned how well she would survive. She did just fine!

I-25 is pretty, clean, but a little boring.

After 225 miles, we stopped here in Raton for gas and a bite to eat. Unfortunately (but maybe not) the restaurant portion has gone out of business.

While I was fueling up, a lady told me about this place.

They were open, the food was okay, and we could sit down and cool off.

I rode this pass when I rode back to Lincoln City, NE to attend a memorial service for a good friend of mine.

At that time, it was covered in 4" of snow and I had to really concentrate to stay in the groves made by the car tires. Obviously, I made it through.

After Santa Fe, the traffic thinned out a  lot.

If you look way up there you can see Sherm Acord cutting it up in the Twisties with his Accord.

We are really enjoying the rooms my daughter has comped for us on this trip.

Sherm waiting for me so he can go outside and get a couple of exterior pics.

A very nice visiting area on the first floor.

Some comfy beds that I'm anxious to dry. It was a long and very hot ride today.

It doesn't take him long to find the sweet spot!

It looks like natures A/C is about to turn on.

I'm only showing a picture of my evening meal today since we both had the same thing.

It's only fair then that I show Sherm devouring his! :)
